Platform Engineer (BIG)

Responsibilities: Design and implement platform solutions on GCP utilizing best practices for cloud-native architectures, including microservices, containers, and serverless technologies. Collaborate with software engineers to ensure seamless integration of applications with the GCP platform, meeting their specific requirements and performance needs. Ensure the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of platform architectures on GCP, leveraging services like Kubernetes Engine, Compute Engine, and Cloud Storage. Develop and implement platform strategies to enhance both the user and developer experience. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Assist with the automation of routine tasks. Maintain and enhance continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. Keep up-to-date with new technologies and platform development techniques. Ensure platform security and data protection. Create or integrate existing system guidelines and manuals for the organization. Regularly document any processes that employees need to follow to successfully work within the platform. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or similar role ( minimum 3 years ). Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. In-depth knowledge of GCP services, including compute ( Compute Engine , Kubernetes Engine ), storage ( Cloud Storage , Cloud SQL ), networking ( VPC , Cloud Load Balancing ), and security ( IAM , Cloud Armor , KMS ). Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code ( IaC ) tools, specifically Terraform, for provisioning and managing GCP resources. Well-versed in cloud technologies and DevOps processes. Knowledge of containerization technologies ( Docker , Kubernetes ). Strong understanding of the software development life cycle ( SDLC ). Strong understanding of network architecture , firewalls , and load balancers . Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Nice to have: Experience in the telecom industry. Knowledge of agile methodologies and project management frameworks. Familiarity with other cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure . Relevant certifications, such as the Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect , are highly desirable. Other Requirements : fluency in English.
